Head of Engineering

Infinityy needs an engineering leader who owns strategy, not just delivery. You'll set the engineering direction, build and run the team, and connect technical decisions to the business: fundraising, enterprise customers, partners and the product roadmap. You'll work alongside our Principal Architect, who owns system architecture and stays hands-on in the code. For the right person, this role can grow into CTO.

What you'll do

• Own engineering strategy: a 12- to 18-month technical plan tied to the product roadmap, revenue goals and the next funding round
• Build, lead and grow the engineering team across in-house engineers and contractors: hiring, 1:1s, career paths and performance
• Make the build, buy or partner calls on integrations, AI infrastructure and mobile, with clear cost and risk tradeoffs
• Own delivery health with the Program Manager: predictable releases, quality bars and on-call
• Partner with the Principal Architect, who owns architecture and technical standards; you own the team, the plan and the tradeoffs
• Own security, compliance and reliability: SOC 2 readiness, PCI via Stripe, data privacy and incident response
• Manage the engineering budget, vendors and agency relationships
• Represent engineering with investors, enterprise customers and partners, including technical due diligence and architecture reviews
• Set engineering culture and practices, including how the team uses AI coding tools day to day

What you'll bring

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 4+ leading engineering teams and at least 2 as a head of engineering, director or similar
• Built and scaled a team from a handful of engineers to 10+ at a startup or growth-stage company
• A record of setting technical strategy that held up as the company grew
• Hands-on background in C#/.NET, TypeScript or similar stacks on Azure or AWS, enough to earn the team's trust and challenge designs
• Experience presenting engineering plans to a CEO, board or investors, and supporting technical due diligence
• Security and compliance experience (SOC 2 or similar)
• Daily use of AI coding tools and a point of view on how they change team practices

• Proptech, marketplace or integrations-heavy B2B SaaS
• AI or LLM product experience in production
• Mobile app delivery
• Prior CTO or co-founder experience

First 90 days

• 30: assess the team, codebase and delivery process with the Principal Architect; meet key customers and partners
• 60: engineering strategy and hiring plan approved by the CEO
• 90: team structure in place, open engineering roles in flight and delivery metrics reported monthly
